My name is David Martinez, and as a practicing attorney in civil and criminal law, my firm has used many different types of experts in all types of cases. Not all cases are million-dollar cases but we had the opportunity to engage Paul L. Errico on a case where the insurance carrier strongly felt that we did not have a million-dollar case.
My firm’s belief was that if we could get an expert that knew all the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations and could help me convince the carrier that the liability issue was 75% versus a 51%, we could get the case settled.
We opted for an out of state expert because we felt that a jury would be more inclined to follow an “expert” not because he was from Texas but because he would tell the jury what the law was throughout the U.S.A. We did not settle the case, until right before the start of “expert” testimony on the second afternoon of trial, for over a million dollars.
Paul Errico, kept my confidence level high because we were convinced that a jury was going to like his demeanor and style. We were thoroughly confident that no cross-examination was going to do us any harm because we kept our focus simple and to a layman’s term.
We would certainly not hesitate to recommend Paul Errico to anyone and would give him a five star rating.
